I started BmwConfig in 2011 while I was shopping for my 3^rd BMW. Finding the perfect BMW has always been time consuming and I felt it shouldn't be so hard.

Now in 2013, I have not been able to bring BmwConfig to the state I originally envisioned. therefore, I need help so things keep moving forward.

• Do you have software development skills, either front-end and back-end expertise? BmwConfig needs to migrate off the Silverlight plugin, and bring a few other useful tools to life 
• Are you extremely familiar with equipment and lineup? The data need to be double and triple checked 
• Do you want to write news?

While entering its model year 2014, the Z4 has been very slightly altered cosmetically speaking. Prices have also been increased mildly: US MSRP for the Z4 sDrive28i is $47,950 while the Z4 sDrive35i costs $55,950. The available equipment has been also retouched, with maybe the most significant change being the replacement of the Citrus Yellow Package with its new Hyper Orange version.

The BMW X3 entered the model year 2014 last February. Prices are raised slightly compared to the MY2013: US MSRP is $39,600 for the X3 xDrive28i and $44,700 for the X3 xDrive35i.

The new 2014 Model Year for the BMW X1 SAV enters production this March. Prices remain unchanged from the latest increase in January 2012.

When BmwConfig was initially developed, the Silverlight plug-in (At the time in its version 4.0) was supported both on Mac and PC, on every major browser. However with the introduction of Silverlight 5.0, Microsoft stopped supporting Chrome on Mac OS, as the compatibility table found on this page shows:

Since Microsoft has announced the retirement of Silverlight, this will probably never get fixed.

Unfortunately for the Mac users, the only viable alternative is to use one of the 2 supported browsers such as FireFox or Safari.

Indeed it will take some time for BmwConfig to migrate off the Silverlight platform.
